This year I wasn't very organized about making and sharing my Christmas cards, so I've decided to lump them all together in this one post.
This year, after having a baby in the spring, my life has been completely crazy. I wish I was one of those women who seems to snap back to reality after having a baby, but it didn't happen. Here it is, six months after having my little woman and some days I still don't change out of my PJs (or like the other day, even put on a shirt. I just walked around with a zip-up hoodie).
Not my proudest moment...
I'm going to give a brief description about the card, how I made it, and what products I used (if I can remember them all), and just ask me any questions if you have any. Enjoy!
On these two cards I used the same techniques and products. I used Distress Inks with a Mini Inking Tool to color my backgrounds. I used Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves on the top card and Salty Ocean and Peeled Paint on the lower card. I then took a mister bottle filled with water to get the water droplet effects.
I then used the Stampin' Up star mask from the Stars & Hearts set to sponge on stars with Stampin' Up white pigment ink. At this point I dried the background with my heat tool because I'm impatient and my daughter only naps for about an hour at a time.
I prepped my card base by scoring my 4 1/4"x 11" paper at 5 1/2" to make a top folding card. I attached my glitter tape to the base. This glitter tape I found at Wal-Mart one day. I really don't recommend it. It was only a $1 but I got what I paid for. It looks great, but it was extremely hard to peel the backing off and the tape ripped pretty easily.
I used an embossing prepper and then stamped my sentiment on the panels. This sentiment is from last year's Stampin' Up Holiday catalog. I embossed in gold embossing powder. I used the Martha Stewart stuff.
I cut down my panels to fit on the card front and used foam tape to pop them up.
I finished with blue and green rhinestones.
This card I used a stamp set from Fiskars.
First get your details done.
I stamped the snow globe on vellum and on white cardstock. I stamped the snowman inside the snow globe on the vellum. I cut out the vellum snow globe completely and cut only the bottom portion from the white cardstock. I colored the bow red with my Prismacolor water color pencils and used a water brush to get the color moving around.
I cut a teal piece of cardstock to 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". I sponged Distress Ink onto it using the Dots mask from Stampin' Up. I focused most of the color in the middle of the panel and faded the dots out. I stamped the three snowflakes from the Fiskars stamp set onto the background in white pigment ink. I set that aside to dry.
Back to the snowman! I color the backside of the vellum image with a Sharpie for the black, a white gel pen for the white, and a red marker for the red. I let it dry.
I die cut the 'believe' sentiment using a die from Little Yellow Bicycle from mirror silver paper.
I glued the white snow globe base onto the vellum snow globe. I used foam tape under the white part only to pop it up. I added a small strip of paper to the snow globe too.
I wrapped the teal panel with a silver and white twine I bought from Hobby Lobby. I used foam tape to add it to the card base. I glue the sentiment onto the card using Tombow liquid glue.
For final touches I added red glitter glue to the red bow on the snow globe and added Glossy Accents to the snow globe itself.
The inside I stamped with some of the snowflakes in a teal ink.
These cards were so fun to make. I used the same images from a Penny Black stamp set and water colored all the images first. All the images (beside the brown trimmed hat) received white glitter glue on the hat and ball of the hat, and Glossy Accents to the scarf, wings, and holly on the hat. The penguins' noses also received a coating of the Glossy Accents. I let the images dry before moving on.
The pink/blue combo I left intact and just attached it to a craft card base with a mat of patterned paper. Easy- peasy.
The blue/brown image I trimmed around the images and mounted that on a white card base with foam tape and some patterned paper.
The red/green card ended up looking like this:
The snowflake was cut with my Cricut. I used two strips of patterned paper to make my banner. The dots on the background were made using a texture paste and the Stampin' Up Dots mask from Dots & Stripes.
I added glitter to the snowflake die cut and attached a die cut sentiment from last year's Stampin' Up holiday catalog. I don't recommend the die cut set that this came from. The dies do not cut well and the final pieces are very difficult to remove from the dies. I tried using wax paper, I tried using a cardboard piece in my sandwich. Running it through multiple times (like 5 or 6) and nothing really helped. Some I had to finish cutting by hand.
I think these cards were the most fun to make out of all my cards.

Just Because & Thinking of You Cards
I love receiving cards. I love sending cards. That's pretty much why I started selling Stampin' Up supplies. I could get a discount and I could share my hobby with other crafters.
These are just a few "Just Because" cards that I make. I probably make these the most because I send cards to my husband's grandmother the most. It makes me feel so special when I go over to her house and she has them displayed in her kitchen for everyone to see.
My chalkboard card was my first attempt at this technique. I'm pretty happy with it, but I would like to add some ribbon or something. I just didn't have the right kind of ribbon. (Soon...)
Anyway... let me know what you think.
Easter Cards
I am so excited about Easter. Don't ask me why because I'm not really sure. Maybe it's because it means warmer weather is not far behind. Maybe it's because my backyard will be over run with bunnies again.
Speaking of bunnies...
I used Pool Party card stock, Madison Avenue Design Series Paper, Whisper White card stock, Lucky Limeade ink in a Stampin' Spritzer, and Tangerine Tango ribbon from the Madison Avenue ribbons and buttons pack. I also used Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake, and Chocolate Chip inks to color my image.
And here is the inside of my card. A cute little chicken!
I'm sure this is only the first of several Easter cards. The Every Bunny stamp set is one of my favorite sets that I've rediscovered.
